15th Meeting of the Friends of the Museum of Russian Culture, December 14, 2013

Museum staff have prepared three reports.

The first lecture by V. Kustova was devoted to the archive of M. A. Shouliakovsky, a well-known church choir director, which was rescued by the Museum’s associates. Her account of three generations of the Shouliakovsky family was accompanied by the demonstration of many archival photographs, the earliest of which dates to 1894.

Y. Franquien reported on the publication of three books which were prepared with his participation and contain unique materials from the Museum’s archival collections.

On the basis of the Museum’s archival materials E. Ivannikova recovered the history of how the banner of the Simbirsk Corps of Cadets was saved and traced its journey from Simbirsk to San Francisco.

At the meeting’s conclusion the Museum received from a guest, A. Zabegalin, as a gift “Selected Works”, a collection of O. A. Skopichenko’s poetry and prose which was published in Barnaul in 2013.
