13th Meeting of the Friends of the Museum of Russian Culture, September 15, 2012


N. Hidchenko donated to the Museum the 6th volume of the “History of Russian Art: History of Painting of the Pre-Petrine Era”, which was edited by Igor Grabar and published in 1915.

E. Elsner made a present to the Museum of a rare item – a life buoy with the inscription “Officers’ Wardroom San Francisco”, which was how the Association of Former Russian Naval Officers was also referred to.

Russian Center Library manager I. Dragomiretzkaya demonstrated some books which had recently been received there.

The Board of Directors of the Museum of Russian Culture invited Adri G. Boudewyn, a representative of the Rancho Bodega Historical Society, to the meeting. Artist Larissa Andreeva produced a replica of Plaque No. 14 of Possessions of the Russian-American Company, which corresponded to the region of Bodega Bay, and presented it to Adri G. Boudewyn.

Museum associate E. Phemister designed the logotype for the celebration in the spring of 2012 of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the port named after Count N. P. Rumiantsev.

Museum research associate Y. Franquien made a presentation on the archive of A. S. Loukashkin (1901-1988), a public figure of San Francisco’s Russian community. The archive was received from his grandson Andrei Gariaev.
Among those in attendance were A. S. Loukashkin’s grandchildren Catherine and Andrei.
