2nd Meeting of the Friends of the Museum of Russian Culture, November 14, 2009

Museum staff members Y. Franquien, Z. Gradova and M. Meniailenko demonstrated unique materials from the recently inventoried collections of lawyer A. Ya. Slobodchikov and neo-romantic artist P. Tchelitchew, as well as from the rich collection of rare publications from the end of the 1940s produced by displaced persons in Europe.

At the end of the meeting representative of the Russian-American Cultural Foundation N. Sabelnik handed a check to Museum treasurer N. Dragomiretzky.

In attendance at the meeting were friends and guests L. Tern, I. Dragomiretskaya, Z. Gradova, G. Sheremetev, N. Sluchevsky, M. Klestoff, G. V. Kumansky, N. Sabelnik, Nicholas and Alexander Hidchenko, L. Alioto, as well as Museum representatives G. Tarala, N. Dragomiretzky, A. Gansa, and N. Diachkov.

The Museum’s board of directors expressed appreciation to all participants of the Black and White Ball in honor of the Russian Center’s 70th Anniversary for their financial support. Thirty percent of the ticket cost of tickets to the ball was devoted to support for the Museum’s activities. This made possible the acquisition of a large-format high-speed scanner.
